The Promoracing team riders have closed the season of the Moto2 European Championship with good performances in the last race of the season today at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo de la Comunidad Valenciana. Eric Granado has qualified second and Xavi Cardelús has been seventh.
Granado has been during the whole race with the leading group and from the first third of the race has imposed the pace that has allowed him to approach the fight for the win that has finally loosed for only a second and a half. Meanwhile, Cardelús has recovered from the 21st to the 7th final position after giving up a handful of positions in the first corners to avoid a touch with a rival that would have taken him out of the track.
The Brazilian has finished fourth in the Final Standings and the Andorran has been finally eighth.
Raul Jara (Team Manager): “Our riders have done a great job today and we are very satisfied with their performance. Eric has overcome the problems of yesterday and has returned to the podium that stepped at the beginning of the Championship and Xavi did it very well too after having some problem in the first corners finishing in a seventh place that shows his progression”.
Eric Granado (2nd): “My race start has been good and in the first lap I have recovered some positions and gone with the head of the race. At first, with the tyre completely new, I had a hard time riding to the limit, but as time went by, I rode faster and reached some gap in front of my pursuers. This second place compensates us after the problems of yesterday and reflects a great work of the team”.
Xavi Cardelús (7th): “I am very satisfied with this result. In the first corners I have opened my line to avoid a touch with other riders and I loosed a lot of positions until the 21st place. From that moment I started to get my pace and I have been recovering positions until finishing seventh and leading the second group of the race. It’s been a good weekend and a good way to close the season. “
